Army Reservist SGT Melissa Neal has prepared for a career in music and is now afforded the opportunity to live out her dreams. What a refreshing talent!
CAMMO’s newest artist, Melissa Neal, is a native of San Diego, California. Discovering her musical abilities early on, this gifted singer began taking formal vocal training lessons while in junior high which would continue until her entrance into the Army. While in high school, she performed in musicals, women's choir, advanced choir, and show choir. The young Neal also performed at the Kiss 108 concert along side TLC, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Jewel, and Sum 41.
Melissa moved to Illinois where she joined the U.S. Army as a Chemical Operations Specialist. After Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), she was stationed at K-16, South Korea. Once she completed her tour in Korea, Melissa moved on to her next duty station, Fort Knox, KY. It was there she met her husband as they were both enrolled in the Warrior Leadership Course for the rank of Sergeant. She was later deployed to Qatar and returned a year later to Fort Campbell, KY where she successfully completed her five-year active duty commitment. Melissa then moved to Fort Rucker, Alabama with her husband and in 2010 joined the U.S. Army reserves where she now serves as a Civil Affairs Specialist.
Melissa currently lives in Illesheim, Germany with her two sons, Devin and Tanner, and husband, CW2 Nate Neal, who is an Apache Helicopter Pilot and has currently returned from Afghanistan.
Named the 2011 Rising Star, Melissa quickly rose through the ranks after delivering a stellar performance time after time in the Operation Rising Star competition amongst fellow soldiers. Most recently, she turned in a notable performance at the Army’s All American Bowl Gala.
Melissa Neal is a shining example of a soldier, mother and military spouse. CAMMO is thrilled to be the management team and agency for this remarkable young artist! Stay tuned for more exciting news for Melissa in the near future!
