Welcome to CAMMO

CAMMO, the Center for American Military Music Opportunities, is an innovative 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is committed to further development and execution of Music Therapy programs that focus on service-related conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). CAMMO concentrates its efforts on providing quality music therapy services to restore, maintain, and improve the physical, emotional, psychological, and neurologic functioning of wounded active-duty service members and veterans through the systematic use of music.

CAMMO is also dedicated to the advancement of the artistic and technical abilities of our veterans and service members. As a CENTER, it provides a hub where AMERICAN MILITARY MUSIC artists, technicians, and musicians can go to find information about OPPORTUNITIES in the field of the Arts.

In addition to the current operations in the Northern Virginia and Washington DC areas, plans for acquiring or building physical centers in Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, Austin and other locations throughout the United States are underway. Ideally, each of these locations will have an educational component in partnership with a local university, a residence hall or housing arrangements, rehearsal space, studios, offices, and a music therapy wing.

CAMMO's Mission

There are three prongs to the CAMMO mission:

  • To create therapeutic programming and outlets for service members and veterans
  • To train and educate veterans in music industry-related career opportunities
  • To develop top-notch music artists

This organization is on target with its mission because it believes in the power of music to restore, inspire, and open doors to our veterans and service members. With that said, the financial contributions of our donors have been a tremendous help and we ask for your continued support as the services rendered by CAMMO expand. If you've never given, we ask that you consider the life-changing effects your gift will have on a U.S. veteran or service member suffering from PTSD or TBI. Every dollar counts!
